The hay is gone.

As a kid, you never forget the day your faithful, farm friends head down the road. "Lucky," the Brown Swiss cow-produced lots of milk. She also ate enough food for 3 cows. During a long drought, she had to be sold.

We spent lots of time together when her milk was fresh. It was fun to spray milk at the kittens, and watch them clean off their faces. Sometimes the pail was intentionally placed & Lucky put her foot in the milk. The milk would then have to be dumped & we didn't have to haul it back to the house.
